Linden has retained the small community feeling that has been lost in other communities as a result of growth. The downtown boasts several small shops and several restaurants, ranging from casual fare to upscale dining. Free summer concerts in the City's gazebo, the Music by the Mill, attract hundreds of listeners each year. Other notable annual events include a Memorial Day Picnic to honor veterans, a Summer Happening (June), the Linden Marketplace (July and August), and a Holiday Happening (December).
